Tajdaar-e-Madina has been granted full planning permission to use the premises on Maidstone Road, 1a Garendon Street in Leicester as a purpose built Masjid and Madressa, to perform religious duties and community, social activities, Nikah ceremony and funeral services other similar functions.
Accordingly, the Masjid needs extensive internal rebuilding to adapt it for such use.
The Leicester City Council were meant to be carrying out major internal structural extensions at a cost for a period of approximately 15 weeks beginning May 2008 but since then the Leicester City Council have asked Tajdaar-e-Madina to make an offer to purchase the building freehold. This was a great achievement for the committee & the musallees.
Once the property has been purchased we will need to fund and carry out the other necessary work ie relocate the wudhu and toilet facilities, build a Mehrab, install heating and cooling equipment, public address system, lighting, carpeting and lot more.
The total project cost will be around £150,000 which includes both purchase of the building and refurbishments and this is required immediately for the continuation of this beneficial work to ensure permanent facilities are available for our use as well as for our children’s.
We appeal to you and all our Muslim brothers and sisters to dig deep and donate LILLAH for this project and get
Sadkah-e-jaria before we part this world.
